APD Records Division Walk-Up Counter Services

Do you need a copy of your accident or crash report? Get it quickly and easily online by clicking here.

You can also obtain records in-person at the Aurora Police Department's Records Counter, located at Aurora Police Headquarters, 1200 East Indian Trail, Aurora, IL, 60505. The records counter is open Mondays - Fridays, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. 

Available Walk-up Records Division Services (cash or credit cards are accepted for payment):

  • Copies of Crash Reports - $5.00
  • Certified Arrest Record Check - $5.00
    ** Pleased note, this record check includes only arrests made by the Aurora Police Department. Arrests from other cities or states will not be included.
  • File a FOIA Request
  • Fingerprinting Services - $10.00 for the first card and $5.00 for any additional card.
    • Available on Mondays only. 
    • We only provide ink and roll prints.
    • Must be an Aurora resident and provide a valid photo ID. We do not fingerprint for concealed carry licenses or immigration purposes.
    • Must bring your own fingerprint card, which you can obtain from the FBI website. 

We do not provide background checks for rental properties. A state or nationwide background check is recommended. A list of businesses that offer these services is available on the Resident Screening Sites

Police Report Requests (other than crash reports) may be requested by completing a Freedom of Information Request online through the City of Aurora's FOIA portal.
