One of the best things you can do to prevent your children from getting involved with drugs or alcohol is to be involved with your children and take an active interest in what they are doing. Know who your children's friends are and who their parents are. Know where your children's friends live and have contact numbers for them and their parents. Educate yourself on street drugs as well as prescription drugs. Research the signs and symptoms of drug/alcohol abuse. Do not hesitate to contact the Aurora Police Department's Special Operations Group at (630) 256-5600 and ask to speak with a narcotics investigator if you have any questions about drugs, identifying drugs or are concerned that your child may be abusing drugs/alcohol.
In addition, there are a lot of other help and information resources and agencies available to assist you, your family, or your specific needs. Below are some links to a few of these agencies.
