Request a Training or Speaker

The Aurora Emergency Management Agency is passionate about increasing community preparedness and resiliency! To help us increase community preparedness, we have designed the following trainings and can accommodate the following types of requests. We look forward to connecting with you!

Training

We have developed a variety of public trainings curated for a wide range of audiences and at varying lengths to suit your needs. All trainings are offered at no cost and are taught by our volunteers. If your group does not have a meeting space, we can coordinate with you to arrange one.

Drills

Staff will observe life safety drills upon request at schools, faith-based locations, businesses, or other public buildings and offer recommendations for improvements in plans and actions.

Career Day and Exploration

Staff will provide students in high school or higher education with information about the emergency management profession through hand-outs and face-to-face discussion. We can do this for individual classrooms, large career days, clubs, and extracurricular groups.

Schedule a Professional Speaker

If your organization is holding or hosting a seminar, conference, or workshop, we would love to speak to your audience about emergency or disaster management topics, research, and best practices. Please email ema@aurora.il.us to request a speaker.
