Members gather with heads bowed to pay tribute to the lives lost during the Henry Pratt Tragedy in Aurora.
On Saturday, the City of Aurora came together as one community, one family—ONE AURORA—to mark the sixth anniversary of the Henry Pratt Tragedy. With heavy hearts but unwavering resolve, the community gathered to honor the lives that were taken too soon, to support the families who continue to grieve, and to acknowledge the sacrifices made on that fateful day.

With solemn voices, we spoke their names, ensuring they will never be forgotten: Russell Beyer, Vicente Juarez, Clayton Parks, Josh Pinkard, and Trevor Wehner.

Their lives mattered. Their contributions, their dreams, and their legacies continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved them.

The City was honored to be joined by the families of Vicente Juarez, Clayton Parks, and Trevor Wehner, who, through their grief, expressed profound gratitude to the Aurora community for never forgetting. Though the pain of their loss remains, they find strength in the kindness, prayers, and steadfast remembrance that surround them each year.

At the Wreath Laying Ceremony, the City paid tribute to these five souls and also recognized the selfless courage of the first responders who put themselves in harm’s way. That day, five Aurora Police Officers were wounded, running toward danger to protect others. Their bravery, along with the dedication of all our public safety professionals, serves as a testament to the resilience and unity of Aurora.

As everyone stood together in City Council Chambers, attendees did more than just remember—they reaffirmed their promise to carry the victims' memories forward, to support their families, and to remain a community that lifts each other up in times of darkness.

Their names will never fade. Their legacies will never be lost.

Today and always, we are #AuroraStrong.
