Indoor Special Effects & Flame Effect Displays
Requirements for Indoors Special Effects & Flame Effect Professional Pyrotechnic Displays
- Building must meet one of the following requirements
- Protected throughout with an automatic sprinkler system
- Stage must be protected by automatic sprinkler system and have a proscenium curtain that automatically deploys in the event of a fire. No devices may extend forward of the curtain.
- When pyrotechnic materials are on site must be stored in a Type 3 "Day Box" Magazine or better
- Attendance by 1 Fire Prevention Inspector and another Fire Department member at each show (Actual cost will be billed to sponsoring agency)
- Provide a detailed list of products that will be used in display (include size, type and quantity)
- Provide a layout of display area
- Provide a copy of the Illinois State license for:
- Proximate Audience or
- Flame Effect
- Propane fuel tanks will be limited to a maximum size of 20 pounds
- 10 feet clearance to overhead obstructions
- 10 feet clearance to spotlight operators
- Must have at least 1 key safety switch
- Hose runs
- Not extend from room to room
- Pass through partitions, walls, ceilings or floors
- Shall not extend into audience or seating area
- Listed for intended use
- Protected from physical damage or exposure to abnormally high temperatures
