Court Detention Technician

Court Detention Technicians are non-sworn personnel who perform a variety of law enforcement support duties in a municipal corrections environment. Duties of this position may include processing (booking) prisoners, assisting with court and building security, monitoring security for prisoners in the jail and at bond calls, preparing prisoners for transfers to other correctional facilities, providing support for sworn personnel and assisting in related or assigned duties as necessary. The Court Detention Technician communicates with and maintains positive working relationships with all other bureaus and divisions within the Police Department, and may testify in court proceedings as needed.

The position requires a high school diploma or G.E.D. It requires the ability to work on a continuous shift basis. Experience in a correctional environment and bilingual, Spanish, is highly desirable.

Must successfully pass requirements including but not limited to a written exam, physical agility test, polygraph, psychological evaluation, background investigation, interview, and pre-employment drug screen and physical.

Starting hourly wage is $34.38 with excellent benefits
