APPLY TODAY: Disaster Assistance From The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA)
Following the July 2–4 flooding, the SBA has declared Kane County a disaster area, making federal recovery assistance available to affected residents and businesses in Kane and contiguous counties (Cook, DeKalb, DuPage, Kendall, and McHenry). Homeowners, renters, businesses, and certain nonprofits may apply for low-interest disaster loans to cover uninsured or underinsured damages.

Dates: Monday, August 10 to Saturday, August 22.
Hours: Monday through Friday from 9 A.M. to 7 P.M. and Saturday from 9 A.M. to 2 P.M.
The deadline for residents to apply is October 5, 2026.
The deadline for businesses to apply is May 5, 2027.
Residents who did not previously report their damage or were not contacted during the field survey may still be eligible to apply. Reporting damage is not a requirement for eligibility. Residents who did report damage must still apply directly through the SBA to be considered for assistance.
